Artemis Chrysostomidou

“I occupy the curator's room. Among his belongings, a hologram of him appears, a spectral curator projected as an event emptied of truth, as a fragment of what remains when people of the arts are reproduced as images detached from themselves and where visibility no longer guarantees thought. Everything becomes spectacle, trapped inside its own reproduction. The curator, who once reflected artists and artworks, now watches himself being watched.” https://www.artemischrysostomidou.com/curatorsroom
Language is at the core of her work, which increasingly incorporates visual and artistic elements. Her techniques include poems, lyrics, playwriting, performances, video narratives. In her exploration of everyday life, she uses mockery and contempt, read: sarcasm and irony, as rhetorical devise to bring the narrative context to life. Almost as an afterthought, she devotes herself to the extraordinary, allowing irrationality, joy and their delicate energy to shine light. During the residency, she explored the curator and his field of work in order to present it in the form of a hologram.
